They explored the middle garden to investigate local plants and Mrs Thomas shared some of her knowledge and started a discussion on invasive trees and plants that have settled in the area.
The children quickly learned to spot the differences between various species and asked for the names of the plants.
They even spotted a rogue lavender plant growing directly out of a patio crack!
The class theorised that wind or rainwater washed a stray seed into the gap.
Paddington thoroughly approved of the discovery, spending extra time sniffing the lavender.
