Welcome to Year 4
Welcome back to the Autumn Term and to Year 4. We are so excited for all the learning opportunities we will get to share with the children this year.
Key information
PE will be taught every Wednesday afternoon.
The children will take home a banded book to read at home. We use Boom Reader to log children's reading. Children have been shown where to go to change their reading books independently and we will encourage them to change their books as soon as they have finished reading them.
Curriculum coverage
In English, children will explore poetry and form, persuasive writing, first person diary entries and the text The Queen's Nose.
In Maths, children will explore number and place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fluency and times table facts.
This term, children will learn about living things, including vertebrates and invertebrates in Science, Anglo-Saxons in History and rivers in Geography.
