Autumn Term

PE will take place on Friday afternoons. We will try to access as much PE outside as possible this term, so please ensure your child has all-weather appropriate PE kit: jogging bottoms, shorts, white t-shirt and a jumper with no hood or zips, as well as PE trainers at school every day. If girls are wearing tights, please bring socks.

Curriculum coverage

In English, children will develop their writing skills and explore a range of text styles to build their understanding of structure and description writing.

Reading books: Your child will be read with or asked about reading at home once a week. Their book will be changed when they have finished it, or sooner if they ask a teacher.

Please record your child's reading on the Go Read/Boom Reader App when you enjoy a book at home together.

In Maths, children will develop their knowledge of place value, expand their understanding of fractions, gain understanding of time and explore money. They will continue to develop quick recall of times tables through Times Tables Rock Stars, with a focus on the 9 times table.

In Science, children will explore plants and light, while revisiting rocks and living things. There will also be Computing, History, Geography, French, Art, RE, Music and RSHE learning opportunities.
